A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to participate in my best friend's wedding weekend! It was such a special weekend spent with family and friends in the Philadelphia area. The Rehearsal Dinner was held at the Spring Mill Cafe just outside of Philly. The restaurant has been serving French Country Fare since the late 1970's and the food was absolutely amazing!
Since moving to San Francisco last year, I haven't really had the opportunity to dress up for many events as its such a casual city so I was excited to pull a few things out of my closet that were perfect for the occasion. I'm pictures above with the lovely bride (on the left) and her brother and girlfriend-in-law (? lol) (on the right).
I purchased this black cocktail dress during the Holiday Season from Zara and love it! It's such a flattering dress with full coverage up top and a modest midi length but the back adds some character with flattering cutouts. These Zara sandals are some of my all time favorites and they've gotten so much use since they joined my wardrobe a few years back. Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere wrote a piece on these shoes a few months back and I share all of her same feelings. I also pulled my Gucci Soho bag out of my closet and brought it along. It's a great bag for an evening out with it's classic look but also holds a hole lot of stuff which was perfect for the Polaroid camera I carried around all weekend. There really is something to be said for a classic black dress and pair of heels!
The entire ambiance of the restaurant was so romantic and true to who the bride and groom are which made it the perfect venue. We had the entire restaurant and filled it with 40 members of family. The tables were dressed perfectly in white linen table cloths, pink peony bouquets, and simple table numbers. The bride's mum took charge of the decorating for this event and knew exactly what the bride would want for this special occasion. She even managed to work in some pink ranunculus into the decor.
It was such a special night filled of kind words, laughter, and thoughts of a future life together for the bride and groom. Weddings are a far more emotional experience than I anticipated when you're part of the wedding party and make you think about the things that really matter in life. It was a nice reminder that family, friends, and love really are the things you need in life to make it a fulfilling one.
If you happen to be in the Philadelphia area and are looking for an intimate venue to host a dinner be sure to think of the Spring Mill Cafe. You will not be disappointed! Stay tuned for more wedding weekend features coming soon!
As always, thanks for stopping by!!
