I've always been into a minimal and dewy makeup look and have been perfecting my daily beauty routine for the past 10 years. Some of the my favorite products have been staples since the beginning and others have been swapped out to add in something new. Keep reading to find out what my faves are and let me know what yours are in the comments below!
Powders: Mineralized Skin Finish and Illuminator
MACs Mineralized Skin Finish in Medium Plus is one of my tried and true staples that I've been reaching for forever! I like to use a dewy BB cream and this powder helps me set that as well as add a little more coverage without leaving my skin looking overly cakey.
MACs Soft and Gentle Illuminator is another favorite of mine and adds some dimension to my face. I'll take a fluffy eye shadow brush and place it on the tops of my cheeks, the bridge of my nose, and my cupids bow. I started using this product again recently and alternate between this and "Watt's Up!" by Benefit. I rarely use bronzer due to my extremely pale complexion but if I'm looking for a little something extra I add a little contour with Hoola by Benefit but I'm really all about the strobing trend.
Foundation and BB Creams
I've never been a fan of full coverage foundations unless it's needed for photography. I like to be able to let my skin breathe while blending my imperfections with a light BB cream. I've been using the line of Maybelline creams for a couple of years and will use the one pictured above if I have some spots to cover or this one with SPF15 during the summer months. This is truly a low maintenance skin finish and the price point at under $8 is an added benefit!
Benefit Obsession: Benetint and Gimme BROW
I didn't realize my obsession with Benefit until I started writing this post! Bronzer, illuminator, and now blush and brows! Like I said, I love a dewy look and the Benetint adds some dimension to my skin finish. I generally place two parallel lines about half an inch apart on the apples of my cheeks and blend outwards with my fingers. This product is also great if you want to add a dash of color to your lips.
I started using the gimme BROW within the last six months and love it! I still love my Anastasia Brow Wiz but find the gel option from Benefit works better for my everyday look. There's little precision involved and the gel puts my brows in place without having to use an additional product. You can catch up on my post all about brows here.
Must Have: Liquid Lipstick
Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Stripped
I never thought I would be into the matte liquid lipstick trend but I'm happy to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I ended up in Sephora on a Sunday afternoon about a month ago and decided to give the Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Stripped a try. I thought it was going to wash me right out but ended up loving it. This lipstick is long wearing and doesn't leave you with that uncomfortable dried feeling.
Up until two months ago, I never thought that I needed a makeup finishing spray but ended up buying the Urban Decay finishing spray on a whim in Sephora. Let me tell you, this spray has changed my life for the better! I have noticed a considerable difference in the length of time my make up wears and the added dewiness it gives me.
When it comes to mascara, I don't really need much help in the eyelash department; I just need a little something to naturally curl and define my lashes. I discovered the Colossal by Maybelline years ago and have been in love with this line of mascaras ever since. I switch it up from time to time to try their different brush heads or shades, but always come back to the OG Colossal. It wears all day, doesn't flake, and washes straight off with a little face wash and warm water.
Chloe Eau de Parfume
Finally, I always spritz on a little perfume before I head out the door. It might be slightly old fashioned to have a signature scent but since I put on this Chloe perfume 8 years ago, I've never wanted to use anything else. It suits me and my body chemistry and I swear my friends know it's me just by the scent alone.
